| Needlepoint Belt Canvases - |
|
The Belts are about 1 1/8" high (this is about 21 stitches in 18 mesh) and are painted the full width of the canvas (39"). The Leather ends, when finished, add another 4" in the overall length. The Buckle goes on the left and the Billet goes on the right. If you choose to add Initials to personalize the belt, they will go on the right (2 1/2" from the end).

| Needlepoint Belt Sizing - |

| Measure one of your leather belts or a leather belt of the person for whom you are stitching from the outer edge of the buckle to the hole where the belt is worn. This will be the needlepoint belt size. Or, add 2" to the pant size (example: 34" pants + 2" = a 36" needlepoint belt.) To figure the amount of the canvas to stitch, subtract 4" from the needlepoint belt size calculated above (example: 36" - 4" = 32" of stitching to be completed.) The canvas design should be centered when calculating the size. Please be aware that 2" of stitching on each end of the canvas will be covered with leather when the stitched needlepoint canvas is made into a belt.

| Needlepoint Belt Binding - |

After stitching the belt canvas, we suggest a binding stitch along the two lengths of the belt. If you decide not do a binding stitch, please add two rows of needlepoint to each (long) side of the canvas. These extra rows will be turned under when the belt is leathered. This prevents part of the pattern from being rolled under
